Mark Harmon sworn in as International Co-Investigating Judge

Newly appointed international Co-Investigating Judge Mark Harmon of the United States was sworn on 26 October, at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia. He will continue the work in relation to the two remaining cases known as Cases 003 and 004, together with his counterpart, national Co-Investigating Judge You Bunleng.

Judge Harmon was appointed by the Supreme Council of the Magistracy of the Kingdom of Cambodia on 20 June, following the resignation of his predecessor Siegfried Blunk in October 2011 and his reserve Laurent Kasper-Ansermet in May. The veteran American judge has worked as a senior trial attorney at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for the past 17 years.
