Mr. de Wilde started his carreer as an attorney at the Brussels' bar association. In Rwanda, he was responsible for judicial training for the NGO RCN-Justice and Democracy (1995-96), expert legal adviser to the Prosecution Service of the Gikongoro Republic and Personal advisor of the Supreme Court Chief Prosecutor (UNDESA, 1996-98) and Director of the Judicial Defenders of the Danish Institute of Human Rights (1999-01). He worked as Project Manager of a program for the improvement of criminal justice and detention conditions in Cameroon (2002-05). In Ivory Coast (2005-07), he was Deputy Head of the Rule of Law Section of the UNOCI Operation in charge of the judicial section. He joined the ECCC on 1st March 2007 as Senior Assistant Prosecutor.
