Civil Peace Service of GIZ from Germany Conducted an Appraisal Exercise with Victims Support Section

Civil Peace Service (CPS) of GIZ, a nonprofit organization from Germany, conducted an appraisal exercise with the Victims Support Section (VSS) of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Court of Cambodia (ECCC), 27 to 29 March 2023, at ECCC new campus to see how the mandate and objectives of the VSS align with their program in Cambodia and to deepen cooperation and create the basis for the support of an international advisor to the VSS.

A kickoff meeting was organized on the 27 March 2023 with a welcoming remark by H.E. Tony Kranh, Acting Director of ECCC’s Administration Office, followed by a presentation about the ECCC’s 3-year planning by Mr. Knut Rosandhaug, Deputy Director of the ECCC’s Administration. Lastly, Mr. Martin Hennings, Program Coordinator of CPS/GIZ, made a presentation about the CPS program in Cambodia before discussions started.  

On 28 and 29 March, a workshop was organized at the VSS by two international CPS advisors with all VSS’ staff to conduct the actors mapping, mapping of strategic partnerships, exploration of capacities and the needs within the VSS and a deeper look into how to support the VSS in the future.
