UK PLEDGES ANOTHER £600,000 TO ECCC

The Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia appreciates that the Government of the United Kingdom has pledged a new contribution of £600,000 (approximately US$ 1 million) to the international component of the ECCC.The UK’s Foreign Secretary William Hague announced the voluntary contribution in a statement issued on 13 December, saying that the new pledge would help secure accountability for some of the most horrific crimes against humanity in a recent history.

Norway makes a new contribution of NOK 6,000,000

The Government of Norway has made a new contribution of NOK 6,000,000 (approximately US$ 1 million) to the international component of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). With this latest contribution, Norway has provided financial assistance exceeding US$ 5 million to the ECCC.

ECCC to hold a conference on hybrid perspective on ECCC legacy - 13-14 September 2012 - Raffles Hotel Le Royal Phnom Penh

A high-level conference on the legacies of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) will be held on 13-14 September 2012 at Raffles Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh.The legacy conference is jointly organized by the ECCC and the Cambodian Human Rights Action Committee (CHRAC) to foster debate on the legacies of the ECCC. The conference aims to provide a forum where different stakeholders and the broader public can consider the ECCC’s legacies in a domestic, regional and global context.

Australia Contributes AUD 1.4 Million to ECCC

The Australian Government has made a new contribution of AUD 1.4 million (approximately US$ 1.46 million) to the international component of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). The new donation, which was announced by the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Bob Carr, during a visit to Phnom Penh in July 2012, has already been transferred to the United Nations.

ECCC Budget for 2012-2013 Published

The budget for the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) for 2012 and 2013 has been released and is now available on the ECCC website.

Statement by Acting Director of the Office of Administration at the town hall meeting with ECCC National staff- 27 January 2012

H.E. Kranh Tony, Acting Director of the Office of Administration, the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, met with all officers and staff of the court’s national side on Friday afternoon, and informed that there would not be fund available to pay their salary beginning from January 2012.
