Mr. Isaac Endeley

Isaac Endeley, the new Chief of the Defence Support Section, took up his post on 17 April 2012. From February 2005 until his transfer to UNAKRT/ ECCC, he worked as a Legal Officer in the Chambers Support Section and in the Defence Counsel and Detention Management Section at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (UNICTR) based in Arusha, Tanzania. In the latter capacity, he successfully administered the UNICTR's highly complex Legal Aid Programme.

Prior to joining the United Nations, Isaac worked as an Attorney-Editor for WestLaw (now known as Thomson/ Reuters), a legal research and publishing firm based in Minnesota, USA. Before that, he was a Professor of Political Science and International Relations at universities in the USA and Canada. Originally from Cameroon in West-Central Africa, Isaac holds a Bachelor's degree and a Certificate in Education from Keele University in the UK; a Master's degree and a Ph.D. from the Université de Montréal in Québec, Canada; and a Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law in Minnesota, USA. He has also previously worked as a Translator and has language-proficiency diplomas from institutions in the former USSR, France and Switzerland. Isaac brings to his new position a wealth of experience from a multi-disciplinary perspective. He has participated in numerous seminars and conferences on a wide variety of topics. He is also the author of two recent books on international affairs.

Isaac Endeley Appointed As Chief of Defence Support Section

The Office of Administration of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Isaac Endeley as the new Chief of the Defence Support Section.  Mr. Endeley took up his post on 17 April 2012.
