Internal Rules

The Internal Rules of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) contain procedural rules regulating the proceedings before the ECCC.
The Internal Rules was first adopted at an ECCC Plenary Session, a decision-making conference of all judicial officials, on 12 June 2007. The ECCC Plenary has amended the Internal Rules during subsequent Plenary Sessions.
The purpose of the Internal Rules is to consolidate applicable Cambodian legal procedure for proceedings before the ECCC and, adopt additional rules where these existing procedures do not deal with a particular matter, or if there is uncertainty regarding their interpretation or application, or if there is a question regarding their consistency with international standards.
