Case 002 Witnesses, experts and Civil Parties

Mr.Suon Kanil worked as a telegraph decoder for the Khmer Rouge since 1971. He answered questions about the structure of relations in the Northwest and leadership in the region.

Mrs. Denise Affonço is French whom lived in Phnom Penh before Khmer Rouge era, and her family was still in their home in Phnom Penh while Khmer Rouge troop took over Phnpm Penh in 17 April 1975. She testified through video link from her home in France about her experiences and facts she witnessed in April 1975.

Mr.PHAN Van told the court he used to work in the autonomous Sector 105 decoding telegrams.

Mr. HUN Chhunly, 74, was a medical professional in Lon Nol army before Khmer Rouge came to power. His testimony is about what he witnessed in April 1975 after Khmer Rouge soldier took controle of Battambang Town.

Mrs. PECH Srey Phal testifies about her experience and what she witnessed in 17 April 1975 when Khmer Rouge soldier took power over Phnom Penh.

Mr. KIM told the Trial Chamber about what he saw and expereinced when the Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh on 17 April 1975.

Ms. TOENG Sokha is testifying about forced evacuation of her family  and what she witnessed in April 1975.

Ms. Ry testified before the Trial Chamber about what she saw and experienced when Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh in April 1975.

Mr. MEAS told the Trial Chamber he was on duty as a nurse in a hospital in Borei Keila when the Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh on 17 April 1975.

Mr. PE CHUY Chip Se told the Trial Chamber that he joined the revolutionary movement in 1971, and that he used to work at Pongro security office in Siem Reap province.

Ms. MOM, a former teacher, was questioned about what she saw when the Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh on 17 April and during the subsequent evacuation of the city.

Mr. SUM explained the Trial Chamber that he became a Khmer Rouge soldier in 1972. He was questioned about the attack on Phnom Penh in April 1975 and what happened after the Khmer Rouge had taken control over the city.

Mr. Kung was a Khmer Rouge soldier, and was asked questions about the attack on Phnom Penh in April 1975.

Ms. LAY was questioned about what she saw when her family was evacuated from Phnom Penh after the Khmer Rouge took control of the capital on 17 April 1975.

Mr. SOKH was questioned about what he saw when he was working as a railway repair worker during the Khmer Rouge regime.

Ms. Yim Sovann testified about the evacuation of Phnom Penh.

Mr. Chum testified about what he saw when the Khmer Rouge forces entered Phnom Penh on 17 April 1975 and about the subsequent evacuation of the city.

Mr. Meas Voeun was a former brigade commander during the Khmer Rouge invasion of Phnom Penh in April 1975.

Khiev En joined the revolutionary movement as a soldier in 1973. After the fall of Phnom Penh he was transferred to work in the MInistry of Propaganda and information.

Noem Sem was a member of the arts troupe in the Ministry of Information, performing propaganda songs and reading radio broadcasts. She was questioned about working at the radio station in Hanoi and traveling with the delegation of Khmer Rouge leaders to 13 other countries for performances.

Chea Say served as a mechanic in the Khmer Rouge auto repair unit fixing trucks and transporting people.

Em Oeun  served as a medical doctor during the Khmer Rouge regime.

Mr. KIM is currently residing in Pailin. He told the Trial Chamber that he started working in a printing house for the National United Front of Kampuchea in 1971 in Kampong Thom province. After the fall of Phnom Penh in 1975 he was transferred to Phnom Penh, where he worked with preparation of party publications within the Ministry of Propaganda.

Ms. SA told the Trial Chamber she used to work in the Ministry of Propaganda & Education where she organized dance and music performances and typed radio broadcasts.

Mr. ONG is a retiree, currently residing in Brussels, Belgium. He told the Trial Chamber that he left Cambodia for France in 1965 to pursue his studies. When he returned in 1976, he was taken straight from Pochentong Airport to a re-eductaion center in Phnom Penh.
