The Supreme Court Chamber of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Court of Cambodia (ECCC), on 17 August 2021, resumes the Appeal Hearings on Case 002/02 against the accused Khieu Samphan.
The main topics of the second day Appeal Hearings of the Supreme Court chamber focused on Grounds of appeal relating to the Trial Chamber’s jurisdiction and Grounds of appeal relating to the crimes for which KHIEU Samphan was convicted. The appeal hearings will be held from Monday 16 August 2021 to Thursday, 19 August 2021.
The Chamber has allocated Friday 20 August and from 23 August to Friday 27 August as reserve hearing days, to be used if required. As planning, the appeal hearings will continue until Thursday, 19 August 2021.
