Plenary Session of Judges

Plenary Session of Judges meet in Phnom Penh to consider the Draft Internal Rules for the ECCC together with comments received from over 20 interested individuals and organisations.

The Internal Rules are being made available

The Internal Rules are being made available in the three official languages of the ECCC (Khmer, English and French) for comment from the general public over two weeks. They are posted on the internet at www.eccc.gov.kh, www.unakrt-online.org, and www.cambodia.gov.kh/krt/.

Staff of the Offices of the Co-Prosecutors and Co-Investigating Judges and the Office of Administration participate in week-long training seminar on national and international law and procedure at the ECCC premises. National and international legal experts join around 60 ECCC staff for the seminar, supported by the Open Society Justice Initiative (OSJI) and the German Federal Foreign Office.

Rules Committee meets in Phnom Penh

The Rules Committee meets in Phnom Penh to prepare a final draft of Internal Rules. The Rules Committee was established during the Judicial Strategic Planning and Development Workshop held in early July, and is mandated to prepare a final draft of such Rules for the plenary’s consideration. It is composed of three national judges and two international judges, aided by as many experts as needed. The members of the Committee are judges You Bunleng, Mong Monichariya, Prak Kimsan, Agnieszka Klonowiecka-Milart and Marcel Lemonde. The committee is supported by a Secretariat in the Office of Administration.

The address of the ECCC changed

The address of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia changed following the issuance of a Preah Reach Kret (Royal Decree) on extending the boundary of the Municipality of Phnom Penh (for the full text, please see >> Legal documents >> Cambodian documents). Our new address is : Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia National Road 4, Chaom Chau Commune, Dangkao District, Phnom Penh.
