The Cases

Completed Cases

The OCP has participated in the completion of two cases against three individuals.  The following is a brief summary of each case. For more information, follow the links below:

Case 001: Kaing Guek Eav alias Duch was convicted of the crimes against humanity of extermination, torture, enslavement, imprisonment, and other inhumane acts as well as grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions, occurring at the S-21 security centre. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. 

Case 002/01: Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan were convicted of the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution and other inhumane acts in relation to the evacuation of Phnom Penh in April 1975 and population transfers between 1975 and 1977. They were both sentenced to life imprisonment. A second trial, Case 002/02, is underway against Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan regarding crimes occurring in various security centres, worksites and cooperatives, genocide against the Cham and Vietnamese, and forced marriage.
